2025/26 SUMMER SEASON

We are pleased to announce our teams for the upcoming Summer season.

Please note that many hours have been spent by our dedicated volunteers to craft teams to the best of our ability to include friendship requests, player skills and the need for balanced teams formed from the number of registrations received in each age group.  We thank our volunteer Age Group Coordinators for their time and efforts.

The Club reserves the right to move players within the first five weeks of the season if the Committee/Age Group Coordinator/WBA thinks that individual players have been placed in the wrong division or if we need to balance numbers within teams of the same age group.

Please ensure you read our Code of Conduct and Policies found on the Resources page. Acknowledgement of our Code of Conduct is a condition of registration. Our club prides itself on our excellent reputation and we trust our members will always act respectfully.

Training sessions are held once a week for U8 - U14 age groups. For the Summer Season 25/26 we anticipate the following training days:

TEAMS, AGE GROUPS AND GRADING

Waverley Basketball competitions are separated into 2 categories:

1)  Boys Domestic competition which all boys OR mixed teams can enter, and

2)  Girls Domestic competition which is strictly girls only.

For the Summer season 2025/26, the age cut off is 30 April 2026. A player's age must remain under their age group for the whole season. For example, an U10 player must not turn 10 before or on 30 April 2026, otherwise they must register for the season as an U12.

Players will be placed in teams according to their age group.  Exemptions for playing in an age group other than the one your player is eligible for must be submitted by the Club in writing to WBA for their consideration.  Requests for playing in different age groups can be made and will be considered depending on overall numbers and team allocation.  NO guarantee is given that your child can play in a different age group.  Please email the Registrar if you wish to play in a different age group to that which you would automatically be placed based on date of birth.

U12 and U14 players can choose to either try out for a performance team, or be placed in a development team. It is expected that performance team grading sessions will be held around the end of August/first week of September. Confirmed dates will be emailed to those players. More information can be found in our team selection and grading policy which is on our Resources page.
